Default Got myself an Interview with Lockheed Martin - Wish me luck

Ok, so I submitted my resume to Lockheed Martin - Owego, about 30 minutes from my parents. I submitted it on a whim, thinking that I had submitted it too late to get a summer internship, but I figured nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Well, thismorning I check my email, and low and behold, I have an email from Lockheed Martin. Aparently they liked my resume (and possibly talked to my parent'* friend who works there) and decided to give me a phone interview, since I am up here at school. So I emailed them back with my availability and they scheduled it for tomorrow at 3:00. I am very excited since next to my current job, this is hte job that I wanted. If I do get the job, this also means I will be in Binghamton for the summer, so I can work on the cars, and I should be making a little more than I currently am, so I might be able to appease the mod bug while I am at it.

I hope the Interview goes well. Phone Interviews scare me.

The person to get advice from on phone interviews is PDad, he has been involved in several of them, for himself and interviewing someone else.

Good luck to you!

Good Luck on your interview. I understand your apprehension about the phone thing-it would have me nervous too. I'd think, though, the one nice thing about phone interviews is that you don't have to worry about what to wear, making the perfect amount of eye contact and how to sit without being figity (which is always my worst problem).

Yeah... I really don't have much to wear since I accidentally washed my suit pants... and I tend to figit as well. I talked with a professor for about 15 minutes on how to go about it. My mom is currently trying to impart her advice on me, but she tends to state the blaringly obvious and it occasionally gets a little pushy... gotta love mom though for trying.

When the real interview comes, I think I'll beed a fashion consultant...

I have conducted phone interviews in the past to fill vacant positions. Just be yourself and answer the questions truthfully. If you are invited in for a formal interview a grey suit is your best choice for the first interview. If you go back for a second interview a dark blue suit is a good closer. Dark blue conveys to the interviewer that you mean business and want the job.

I also like to hire veterans because they already know how to be a team player and do not need a lot of coaching in that area. If you are not a vet when the questions center around teamwork be sure to have examples of how you were able to help a team of coworkers accomplish a specific goal.

Just be yourself and you will do fine. Best of luck on the interview.
