I know you menionted other than tuneup items. What I do whenever I get a new car:

Fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, air filter, o2 sensor

High Flow cat can help you out depending on the condition of your current cat. $55 shipped on ebay for the 2.5.

Cold air intake is a plus as well, provided you have a light foot. Keep in mind, merely putting on a high flow filter isnt enough, you got to box it in. Or buy a fenderwell intake.

For under 100 dollars? Go to home depot, buy a brick, insert brick under gas pedal, enjoy instant mileage!

I agree with the foot mod. It'* the single largest saver of fuel.

Gosh I use a lot of fuel.
