Looks really nice. You may want to trim the hose a bit (or pull it further into the fenderwell) to straighten out the hose a bit.

Hope you like the results :)

Well, you've inspired me so I went ahead and ordered my kit just now. My wife is out of town for 2 weeks so I'm hoping it will come before she gets back. You know how that goes. She can buy curtains or whatever because we "need" them but it always seems like there is a raised eyebrow when I order something. When she accidentally saw the invoice for the Michelin Pilots, I think that was good for 2 raised eyebrows.

Hmmm, I'm also guilty of "sneaking" an order for parts here and there! My motto: Do it first, beg for forgiveness later!

I told my dad it would increase the gas mileage alot.

He wasnt impressed, so I just got it anyway.

I sold my wife with the filter - We want to have the car for a solid 300k (we're at 120 ish right now), so the cost of air filters over the life of it will pretty well pay for the k&n.
I also tried to play the gas mileage card, but I can't say that I've really seen an increase. Not when I let her drive anyway... she's got one happy foot.

Driving the same area, I get 30~32 MPG, and still have fun with the car... she gets about 22~24 MPG... but the thing is (good thing she doesn't read here), my driving is just as fun, but hers can be downright scary...

Do you think this kit would work with a series 1 supercharged, it looks great though, cool install pics

Probably not as intense has kits starting with 1997. You can go to www.intense-racing and look around.

I ordered the kit Monday and after chasing the UPS truck around the neighborhood to get my order when no one was home to take delivery, I got it 3 days after ordering and it is in. Definitely a 10 for cool factor as far as the sound at WOT.
However, now I'm wondering if a FWI is actually better than a well constructed CAI with a heat shield. It would seem to me that the FWI has a lot more hose for the air to run through and there are more turns as well which would seem to be more restrictive than the straight shot that a CAI gives. It would be interesting to have someone do a comparison on a dyno where the type of intake is the only variable.
