I think the URL you gave me was incorrect, it pointed me to cat back systems. Here'* the URL I used:
http://www.hottexhaust.com/search_re...2&txtCatName=2
I see several different lengths... 14, 18, 22....what are the differences? Is longer better?

Quick question, is the stock resonator restrictive or does it need replacing in a high-flow application? Mine is still in good shape but i need a new muffler and cat on the 96.

No. The resonator only deadens the sound, like a muffler does. When I had mine removed, the tech showed me the inside and the inside piping is the same diameter all the way through with no blockage. There are little drilled holes all around the piping with high temperature insulation that acts like a baffle for the sound, which gives it the bulged appearance. Learn from my mistake....DO NOT REMOVE THE RESONATOR!!

Boreas, think about this:
Resonators were first used in 1994 models. My 93 never had one. My 93 was built to breathe. It'* my toy. I ADDED a resonator. No restriction, and really tames the raspiness of the exhaust note.

willwren - Did you get a chance to answer my previous question? What size resonator is best for my application? 14" 18" or 22" ?

The longer the length, the deeper the exhaust note. This is what I understand, anyway. My exhaust guy builds and runs his own car in the NASCAR northwest division and knows his **** (we did tech day at WCBF04 with him). I went with what he suggested which was a resonator that filled the gap from the cat to the bend in the intermediate pipe.
Excuse me while I go jack up the car and measure......
Mine is 22", what'* yours?
And I managed to do that and not soil my white Bonneville Club T-shirt.

Hey, make sure you have ROOM for the 22". And don't forget that'* the body length, not including the flanges. We had to cut the flanges off my resonator to fit it in.
The length and position of your cat will determine how long it can be.
You can order the Tshirts in the section just above the eBay section.
Some shirts are through the store, and some are promotional items in a topic in that section.
