Let me pick this apart. Cleaner intake? I'll give you that, but it'* easy to clean it occasionally WITHOUT tearing apart the engine.

Cooler intake air? Wrong. The EGR gasses displace oxygen and LOWER the combustion temperatures. That'* the whole purpose. It doesn't sound right at first, but that'* what actually happens.

Clean intake and SC? Refer to my first answer. I have an EGR, and I have to say my internals aren't very dirty. Top-end engine cleaner once a year would make up the difference.

More peak hp and torque? MAYBE 5 of each on a good day. This is for the EXTREME track car. I can think of maybe 3 or 4 cars here that should even consider this mod.

I thought about, and discarded the idea based on Big Jeff'* advice. The fact that it actually ends up providing a cooling effect is correct and I need all the heat fighting ability I can get. Besides during the the teardown for my cam the SC was fairly clean as was the TB.

Todd, yours was one of the cars I thought MIGHT benefit from this. Your thoughts along the same lines as mine make me feel even stronger about this. DON'T do it. The negatives far outweigh the positives except in the most EXTREME applications.
