Default eBay intake

I bought a cheap intake off of eBay to see if there is any real difference in it over the stock airbox with an Airaid panel filter. Well, there is a slight difference in sound which I like, but the down side is it doesn't down shift at WOT while cruising at 40 mph. It downshifts fine with the stock airbox in place at WOT however. I left the MAF screen in place. I had a K&N FIPK on my previous Explorer that didn't experience the shifting issue. Now, would I see any diffence in the Thrasher system or should I keep this little intake on? Thanks

How big is that collar? Looks like its 3"? Too big for n/a, need no more than 2.5" for laminar flow. And you need to shield the heat from the intake, heat robs power, cooler the better

Yes, the short pipe is 3". Will the SLP intake for the Grand Prix 3800'* work in Bonnevilles?

Yeah, that intake pipe is reeeeally short, definitely shield it off. Looks like a plumbing rubber connector you have too.

I know Rogue has the SLP CAI in his SSEi. Not 100% sure if it'* the exact same one used in GP'*, but it could be. I'd ask him, unless someone else answers first.

i think the SLP and the others for the GP have to be modified a little on the end to fit. Nothing big though.

You keep saying this. Why? What concrete evidence do you have to say something like that?

2.5 is too small! It'* smaller then the exit on the back of the TB into the intake plenum on N/A even.
