I keep seeing a mod mentioned on different years here called descreened MAF. I know what this is,but my question is,"Does it work better for certain body styles or setups? Is there a downside? And if I do this do I need to change any other sensors or anything?" :?
It typically works best only if you build a custom CAI that provides very good non-turbulent laminar flow.
No accordian tube, smooth-wall pipe with a good cone filter. And even with that, results vary. I'd suggest keeping the screen with a stock airbox setup, even if you put in a drop-in K&N replacement filter.
The screen provides a good laminar flow across the MAF sensor so it can get an accurate reading of the incoming air volume in order to adjust the AF mixture.
If it doesn't get an accurate reading because of turbulence, it'll be reading less air than there actually is, and it will lean your mixture out, causing it and the O2 sensor to argue constantly.
The effect will be more intense as the barometric pressure and ambient air temps rise and fall.

It may. You have to keep an eye on your long and short-term fuel trims to know for sure. Again, it works for some, not all, but your odds are better with a good laminar, smoothwalled intake and cone filter. But it'* no gaurantee it will work for you.
Bear in mind that it COULD run you lean. That'* bad news for valves and such, and VERY dangerous with Forced Induction of any kind (turbo, sc, NOS, etc).

Ah yes, the NOS. Still plan on doing that so I guess I had better try this now and see what effect it has, so when I get the system I'll know what to expect.
All you can do is try it. It works great for some (me - with gutted airbox, stock tube, and FRAM Air Hog filter). Others have problems with an uneven idle.
The screen is easy enough to pop in and out.

At the very least I will clean mine after I see what it does for me. Is there anything other than carb cleaner that i can also clean the plenum with? Sorry if that is off topic, but I just thought of it since I started this thread.

Cuz i took mine at and spryed it a little just one time... i dont think i hurt it, unless may thats what cousing my other little problem... :?
