But yeah i did spry mine... i hope i didnlt hurt it :(
Nothing. You'll never get a full clean without totally disassembly. Use 'intake safe' intake cleaner, not carb cleaner. Don't use it on the MAF sensor either. Use the procedure in Techinfo.
It details cleaning of the TB and the MAF sensor.
Carb cleaner is a big no-no. It can leave a residue behind on the delicate MAF sensor filaments that can burn them up later.

ok so if you remove the screen it may run lean corrct?? well im installing a lean/rich guage indicator. so ill know if i am lean or not. but if i take it off how much of a pita is it to put back on??? ps the intake i have comeing is the one from jmb.
I realize I have a different setup, but everytime I take my airbox apart i find lttle chunks of stuff stuck in my MAF screen...that alone is reason for me to keep it in.
I think its due to my airbox design, there are openings on the other side of the filter where stuff could be sucked in, as opposed to the Bonnie airbox, where the pieces join before the filter as i recall, meaning that anything that gets sucked in will still get caught in the filter..

I have my airbox off frequently and haven't yet found anything on my MAF screen.
I recently tried life with a MAF. Car idled great.. power felt wonderful. check engine light asked me to put the screen back in.
Like MOS95B.. I have the stock gutted airbox, K&N filter and Intense smooth wall tubing from box to TB. Worked for him in an NA application..didn't work for me in a SC with ported TB application.
Soon I hope to prove or disprove if the smoothwall tubing/cone filter is enough to keep flow laminar in my situation to remove the screen.

i will try it and report back.
every time i clean my filter, i also remove the pipe and sensor to check how clean the inside of the pipe and MAFscreen are.. i have never seen any particles on the inside of the pipe nor the maf screen..
i will remove the maf screen for a few days and see what the outcome is.
