Personally...and this is w/o any data to back it up. I feel that the turbulance is minimal, compared to the flow gained by removing all this material from being in the way of the flow...restricting it.

I believe there is a better flow..

As for laminar flow and turbulance.. yeah yeah.. I'm running a gutted airbox and formerly did an accordian tube.. no turbulance or KR issues were noticed in all my scanning.

I noticed the flow difference..
