So, in other words, the L36 bottom end is damn strong.

As much as I love the L67, I am going to stick with the L36, Ive looked into the L67swap before in my cutlass. In that car it seemed like a great idea because it was so light. It seems to me theres alot of options for the L36 and modded right could be competitve with the L67.
Arent the newer SSEI'* really heavy? Id stick with the SE which is lighter then the SSEI and work with the L36.

a turbo kit can be had for about $3000, plus the cost of a limited slip differential of about $500. You are looking at a very quick car. Swapping in a L67 and modding it is NOT cheap. The turbo option would be less time consuming and produce quicker results.

The swap is not a big deal money wise if you come across the right stuff at the right time. I am almost complete with the L67 swap into my SE. I have been keeping close tabs on every dime I have spent on the project, yes even including beer. As I stand right now, I have all my replacement parts that I am installing on the L67 (gaskets, fuel pressure regulator, filters, thermostat) transportation costs, and an entire donor car for right under a grand. I just need to get my transmission rebuilt, and install motors. So it can be done. As for the haters saying just buy a SSEi, it isn't worth it if its easy. I'm also doing all of the work myself, with the exception of my friends watching and giving un-needed opinions.

A turbo on 9.5:1 compression ratio will be much better then an M90 on 8.5:1...
Turbos can be tuned as well, and some might say 1 psi from a turbo is easier on an engine then 1 psi from a SC.
A turbo will own the same engine with an SC on the freeway.
