built L36 or L67
well i dont know how much you have to spend, but itd be nice to see someone mod the heck out of an L36, because it hasnt been done all that much, at least not here anyway...itd be nice to see someone on this forum with insanely low times that didnt blow
....of course if you turboed it, that would kinda go out the window...but you get my drift
but youre going to definetely have to beef up the tranny either way, but i say youve already got the car, the engine has the capability, especially with some new stuff coming out for it, such as the turbo, and if the intense one doesnt work out theres already one out for the GP/Monte Carlo that im sure could be adapted to fit.....

Stick with the SE I agree, don't get an SSEi because it might be easier or even cheaper, toast you seem like a guy who likes a challenge! Go for it I would do an L36 TURBO! How sweet would that be! Plus keep its looking stock its a SLEEPER!

As much as I love sleepers, honestly, a 12 second Bonneville is a sleeper no matter what trim package it has. Personally, I would go the cheapest route which is going with an SSEi, but thats only because I like luxury and the SSEi has WAY more toys that I just can't get enough of. However, a turbo kit on the L36 would really wake it up, and obviously sure as **** surprise A LOT of people.

Why don't you just swap the top half of your L36 for a top half of a L67?? Then install a cam and maybe an IC while the engine is all taken apart. 
O btw you don't need a new trany (yet) just swap out your diff setup for a HD. . .

Also, Zooomer runs an L36 block on his 10 second M90 GTP because he needs the compression to help him make the kind of power he'* making. All you have to do is take the whole topend (heads and up) off of an L67 and bolt it onto the L36 and its the same thing. The block afterall is the same, just different pistons, rods, etc... in it. Those many different parts that are unique that you are talking about, are in the topend and would be the ones you would change.

I guess you guys dont know that 80%-90% of the people with M90'* as poweradders that dyno over 350WHP use an L36 bottom end. . . .Also what about all the 400+ WHP turbo L36'* out there?
