In 1958, B-12 Chemtool ® was developed as a multi-purpose surface cleaning solvent and soon became Berryman'* flagship product.
I've always known it to be a great engine cleaner (thanks Dad!!), AND it comes in an Acetone safe metal can!! Now all I need is an Acetone safe measuring cup, and I'll be out to test this theory....
any kitchen measuring cup with PYREX written on it will work. Dont worry about poisioning the cup, acetone evaporates off easily and is water soluble.

I can see the post in a few days.... " And you thought the EGR Pipe was bad for Lower manifolds"

j/k.

This might turn out to be one of those things, where after you figure in the cost of acetone, you're not any better off money wise per mile.

If it works in the proportions suggested, I think you'd come out ahead of the game on gas, especially with th $2.00+ we're at. Sheesh, can we open ANWAR already?

:laughs because he'* just opened a can of worms:

I thought I read in the newspaper that we did....

Regardless, check the safety issues with acetone and skin contact. Just my thoughts...

Fingernails aren't skin. Look up the MSDS on Acetone. You might be surprised.

well i dunno about you guys but im young and stupid and im not going to believe anyone that tells me its wrong until i try it for myself! haha
im gonna start off slow ill prolly put 5 oz. of acetone in my next full tank ive read all of the posts here and all over the internet about acetone. it is such a small amount that it should almost be undetectable.
but i know i cant afford the gas prices so if this will help im going to try it.
ill let everyone know how it goes
it will probably take a month or a little over to get accurate readings but ill let everyone know how its goin
i have an old carbeurator (*.P.?)
layin in my room ill take that and put it in 50/50 mix of gas and acetone and see what she does.
keep checkin the forum and ill keep updatin.
