Ive got a 2000 Se and id like to revive it a little bit as the former owner drove it almost into the ground. Is there anything thats fairly simple i can do to increase the performance and make it look a wee bit sweeter? I think I will definitely clear the corners. I'm pretty good mechanically, but id like to avoid working with the electrical system or anything that has fluid running through it.
Ive heard about gutting the airbox to get better throttle response (which seems to be a little flat) but dont know if i should.
Any help would be great, thanks

Especially since you have 125k miles on the clock. Right now, I've got 87k miles on mine, and I still feel like I'm playing with fire... It could be a fatal issue that can be 100% prevented just by following those steps listed in the post WillWren gave you... After you do that, the fun can begin

wow thanks guys, iIknew the earlier 3.1 liter engines in chevy luminas had this problem, but had no idea the 3800 did. I'll get on that right away. (after some snow melts anyway)
Bye the way, would I want to change to a 180* stat if i live in Michigan where it regularly gets near 0?
