A chip will also do other things, such as remove limiters, and give you more power. Can you swap out the TC in our car to the GP one maybe?

Jason is dead on. The trans and shifting is only a small part of the chip. But at the same time, I wouldn't bash any product of Scott'*. That guy knows more about 3800 performance than anyone. The reasons for his shift kit are what they should be, whether you 'feel' it or not. (seat of the pants dyno is fun, but serious is serious). If Scott/Intense has it, and you're serious about performance, BUY IT.

I still don't see the difference in the TC. Is it for a different feel from stop for the most part? It'* the same drivetrain, so if you wanted i'm sure you could do it. A GP is marginally lighter then an SSEi...

The larger TC is for the greater mass of the larger car. And a smoother ride. The GP was really built to be what most of us try to turn our Bonnevilles into. Pure performance. We get luxury to go with it, though.

Yes, you can get a lighter TC to put in, and I will do that eventually. As for the chip I mentioned the PCM reburn early in the thread. I asked Jeff about doing the chip instead of the kit and he said that while the raised pressure will help, your putting extra wear on the lines and things (especially for older cars) where the hardware kit with the tranny springs will not hurt anything. 400 for a chip, or 125 for ****-kit..personally I will do both but initially I would recommend the shift-kit if you want to prolong your tranny and firm up the shifts. INTENSE also sells some heavy duty torque converters.

I've been around the INTENSE guys for about 3 months and let me tell you, they know their 3800'*. Some of their products may be more expensive or differant but its for a reason. They are top quality and ONLY interested in performance.

I emailed Scott on the intense trans pack issue and he said the kit will add life to things like the clutches but will shorten the life of things like the input shaft,So I think It would be interested to go with the kit because id rather replace an input shaft than have to get A 2000$ tranny rebuild Ordering the trans pack now
