Any one here havethe intense performance shift pack ?

Looking to get myself a few Xmas gifts,Im kinda shooting for the intense trans kit,3.4 nodular pulley system or the slp headers?I heard of a few other trans kits for the 4t65 just wondering if this would be the better choice?

I have the intense shift kit and I have 2 thoughts on it.

1st, its not what I expected, I wanted something to let me really FEEL the shifts. This product does not do that, it quickens the time between shifts and really firms them up but not to the point of FEELING IT BUCK. If that is what you want, don't get this.

However, that being said, now that I have this I no longer want the throw you in your seat shift feel. The reason for this is simple, tranny life. The torque converters in our bonnevilles are almost 26 lbs. The GP's have a lighter converter weighing about 20-21 lbs and those are the cars those other shift banger kits are designed for. If you go throwing our TC around harshly with a break your neck shift kit your going to lose your tranny pretty quickly.

Intense's shift kit is designed to increase your performance by quickly shifting through the gears allowing you to maintain power consitantly through your acceleration and it does this very well. Sometimes I can't even feel the 2-3 shift at WOT its so quick and the power just keeps coming. A screech bang shift kit that will break your tires loose in second is great for show, but not go.

Perhaps there would be better results with an LSD? How much was the shift kit?

Do you know of a more suitable shift pack that would better suit our tc's, Im not really looking for that snap neck gear change just a little quicker on the shifts would be nice, and the the main reason for me wanting this upgrade was to prolong tranny life :?

Yea, I would suggest the INTENSE shift kit if you want to quicken the shifts and reduce lag wear on the tranny. The other way to go would be a pcm reburn with a little extra line pressure. The hardware way with the INTENSE shift kit is cheaper and better though IMO. It really wasnt that hard to install either. Just make sure you get about 8 or 9 quarts of tranny fluid to put back in when your done. Most of the other shifts kits are really designed for the GP's and even at mid range setting is going to beat your tranny up.

Keep in mind that a chip can firm up the shifts, raise trans oil line pressure, and adjust the shift points. You'll probably feel the effects of a chip with regards to the trans more than the way the intense kit was just described.

How long is this special going on for?
