How does he know I am bigger and heavier
as for size i have the same problem
I am hoping for some more low down also, but I am not expecting it. I still think the 2.84 gears are whats killing me off the line. Probably won't have everything done by the spring, but at least I will be ready for the next ONBF!

Come out to the track next weekend, see what it does now, then figure out what has to be done to knock a second or so off.

The 1897 lets you get into the power bad a bit quicker

I think a Complete 3.06 Trans would do good for you... Unless you want to use a 3.29 or 3.33
Well, I am planning on a complete rebuild, so maybe I need to tell them to go with the 1897 stall convertor with the 3.06? Shouldn't be hard to work that in the PCM either, as they will be all stock.

3.29 or 3.33? Wow! Has anyone around here done that? I figure that the 3.06 will probably be a wash fuel economy wise, but either of those two might sting a bit. Then again, it would probably liven the old girl right up too.

Jim, I would love to do that, but it looks like I have some friends coming up from the US on the weekend.

after reading all this it seems that L36 olds', and what not, are running as fast as my 01 SSEi (L67) with not much modding. Havnt been to the track yet (on Aug 18th first trip) but seem that a SC car would spank a mildly modded N/A car. To me, after a pulley, PCM, CAI, and headers an L67 should be well(x'3) into the 14s. am I missing something? Maybe I got lost in all the reading.
