repair in parts store lot
I've noticed over the past month or so, a shutter in my 97 olds, while climbing hills on the interstate, no cel, and no complete drop of any cylinder, I had replaced the coils, wires, plugs a while back..so all that is good...NO, it was the center coil pak, checked the m-ohms.. and the sucker was 6.64, the other 2 were 9.10..found the problem quick
drove to Oreally'*, traded in, coil, life time warranty...and no more shuddering..
coil only lasted 2 years..that normal on them 30 buck coils?

Go with ACDelco D555 ignition coils.

This is a perfect scenario where I argue in favor of the salvage market.
You can probably pick up the rack of 3 for a similar price. You can test them when you pull them, and your chances of getting a matched set are much higher, especially when you are testing them right there. Coil failures are pretty sporadic as it is.
Plus, as mentioned, the L67 coils (blue tab) can tend to run a tad hotter of a spark than NA sourced units (grey tab). It probably won't make much of a difference though in a performance aspect.
