Default New Member- Interior Vent air Problem

Hi my name is Jean and I own a 2002 Bravado. The a/c is blowing on the floor and defrost area but not the regular a/c vents. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong before I spend hundreds of dollars. Thanks in advance.

Jean for better exposure & responses, I moved this to the Olds Section.

Quite often the problem is with actuators.
I will let others chime in to help in diagnostics, with further information regarding your 2002 Bravado.

I agree with techII, check to se if the vacuum line is attached behind the throttle body that goes to the passenger fender area. It should go to a vacuum reservoir than into the firewall.

Air blowing through defrost and floor but not vents is the default mode when the HVAC head unit fails. See if one of these looks like yours:

I had the same problem on my Bonneville. There is a connector behind the dash. Mine was behind the glove box. It is a round connector that holds all of the vacuum lines. What happens is the inner tube of the vacuum line collapses within the connector. Blocking air which causes it to not work right. you have to cut the vacuum lines and splice them together bypassing the connector. There was a write up on this issue on the old Bonneville Club forum. Don't know if it is still there or not. Or it could be your control module or a bad damper.
