Default MAP=LOW???????????

keep getting a obd1 code map=low i have replaced the map sensor 2 x back to back now. Whats causing this problem car is a 1988 olds cutlass supreme FWD 2.8 engine

Can you give the exact code(33 or34)? Not sure if you mean the MAP signal was low or that the vac was low....

was code =34 that code says- map low! ?? which means high vacumn? remember -i had same code from old map sensor that did check as leaking on a vacumn pump test!

Essentially, the code sets when the computer is reading the voltage too low. If you have verified the sensor is reading correctly, you will want to check the supply voltage to verify it is what it should be, and you will need to check wiring as well.
