No, both systems work together. When one fails, they both fail because they both use the same HCU to control braking or acceleration. And yes, they will be fine until you can get it replaced.

So even though I can turn my ETS on and off like my dash light is telling me I am I still don't have the ETS function. Did I get that right?

Not in the sense that I told you. I think. Your traction control is still fine, but because it uses the same HCU, it can't function properly now.

Ok. I now need to figure out how to come up with that kind on money to get everything fixed on the ABS. I also need to have an oil seal replaced on the timing cover because when the friend of mine replaced it he must have bent the seal or something because it is leaking oil from that seal.

Morad Auto Parts is a good source for used GM parts like what you need. I bought an EBCM from them and they were very helpful in finding the right one.

Well my traction control would have been nice to have to help aid me today when I did two 360 degree turns in the middle of the highway before I hit a guardrail. The car is fine, it has no real damage it is but I think I might have a few flat spots a tire or to. Gotta love the snow here in the Midwest.

Well thank god that wasn't the case for me due to I am an adrenaline junk so that was fun for me but probably not for others though since I did turn around a few times before resting on the other side of the highway.

I don't think your TCS would have helped you in preventing the circles. TCS only keeps the front wheels from slipping while your trying to accelerate from a stopped position. ABS might have helped, but I'm skeptical.

OK. Thanks for all of the helpful info along with the website provided. I will be putting money aside to shop the car to get the ABS back in good working order.
