Default 94 olds cutlass supreme 3.1 coolant system refill

my 94 olds has a sticker that says there is a special way to put coolant into my car. It also says that if you dont follow the correct method it can cause serious engine damage. Can anyone give me any info on this? Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer. Gary r

Not sure if your engine has bleeders on the thermostat outlet or bypass above water pump.......they are opened to remove air....

This little tool is great for removing air from engines.....3.1'* are known for trapping air...

If air is not removed from the cooling system, an air pocket will form, and can cause overheating....

You attach funnel on a cold engine, add coolant so bottom of funnel is covered...start car....level may drop below funnel opening...add coolant to bottom of funnel....as coolant heats, the level will rise in the funnel......when thermostat opens at 190F, the level will drop and the air will be pushed out of the funnel,,,,add just enough coolant to keep the bottom of the funnel covered.....then plug funnel with "T" tool and remove funnel and adapters...careful the coolant will be hot, but not under pressure.....add radiator cap........the next day check coolant reservoir and make sure level is at least at the cold level mark....

It is not really cheap, but an excellent tool to have.
I doubt it, but you could see if somewhere like AutoZone has it, and will loan it out to you.
