yeah im calling all the autoparts stores now trying to find one i noticed theres was like half a gasket there and it was so old it was stuck to the metal so i scraped the rest off and now im looking for a new one

well it looks like im going to have to customise my own gasket because i had the guys at 3 different autoparts stores baffled they had no idea wtf it was or anything so i baught a gasket sheet and im gunna go cut out a piece and see what happens

are you talking about the o-ring? it should come with the new PCV valve I would think

Usually a pcv is packaged by itself requiring you to reuse old o rings or buy one seperately...

No Hans, he means the gasket under the metal PCV valve cover plate. See pic above.

well made a new gasket put on some liquid gasket too let it dry for an hour started it up and the problem is still there. also i replaced the pcv again and the rubber o ring.

OK, I don't have an L27 to check this on. Maybe one of you guys out there with a good running L27 could verify this. Start up your car- let it idle. Undo the oil filler cap and note any change in the idle speed/quality. Put the palm of your hand over the oil filler hole. Feel any suction? Does the idle change?

I'm gonna go out and try this with my L36. Not the same situation, but similar.

OK, with the L36 engine in my '95 there is no change in idle speed or quality when the oil filler cap is removed while running. Placing the palm of the hand over the open hole to seal it results in no change in idle. No pressure or vacuum is felt on the hand when held tightly over the filler hole.

Let'* hear from some L27 guys.

bill i put my hand over and idle smooths out but i do not feel any vaccum. pull my hand off and it jerks again, then once i put the cap back on its fine. tomarow im going to go over all my vaccum hoses again. anyone know of the vaccum hose locations? and which ones i should check.
