Water pump removal

cover your fender to protect the paint.
Now remove the negative battery cable.
Drain the cooling system.
Locate your water pump. You will need to loosen the bolts holding the pulley to the pump.
Once these are broke loose you will need to remove your serpentine belt. The tensioner is below the alternator.

Now remove the bolts and the pulley. It should look something like this.

Now remove the bolts holding the pump to the block.

It should look a bit like this.

Clean up the gasket surface real good with a gasket scraper. You can clearly see the old gasket here.

Now install your new water pump with a new gasket on the engine.

Torque water pump bolts to the proper amount.

Then put the pulley back on and torque bolts to proper amount.
Put serpentine belt back in place.
Refill cooling system.
Now remove the negative battery cable.
