I had to do over 200 going from T-Mobile > Sprint since they can't do it with GSM RAZRs...

send a text message from your old phone to your email address with your contact list in the text message. Then email your contact list to your new phone, and it will show up as a text message w/attachment. I can do stuff like that with my samsung on at&t'* network anyway.

Verizon always transfers that stuff over for free for me. And if not.. it'* worth the $10 ... that'* some serious time that you'd have to spend to redo it all.

I have a feeling the local VZ store wont help me out since I didnt buy it there.

My local did for me. I had picked up a phone off Ebay. It'* worth the try and if you have to resort to paying.. $10 is cheap for few hours of life...
