thats decent... this is fast
http://www.sy-ty.com/videos/Jesse/hoover_9sec.mpeg
they run like 13.9s...
also they are the same idea as the grand national... turbo'ed v6... only came in black.

any good full sized 350 chevy with a light weight rebuild can run 14s... my problem is I put to much new **** into my truck... If I kept it basic it would probably pull low 14s. I spent too much time on her over the years to take her to a track(lol, it would put a dent in my day if I hit the wall or worse) , I just drive her around town... she hasnt even seen too much of a highway (sence the last restoration)... I had to drive to a show and shine (60km round trip), and I took a paved back road... But only cuz I didnt want rocks in my paint... I went about 140km/h the whole way, no-traffic. Oh well.. now shes under a few car covers, and a insulated blanket asleep in my garage.

never thought id see the day when a high 13 second TRUCK was only a descent performer. ive got no info about rebuilding a 350, but id be suprised if a shortbox 2wd 5.7 ever broke high 15'* stock. rebuild and build up that syclone, and its a easy 11-low 12 second truck. just bolt on stuff can get you in the high 12'*

with 60' times that can snap your neck ive seen the +++modded ones can do sub 3 second 0-60'*.

kid at my works got a lightning, niiiiiiiiice, to bad they never came with leather though, wtf? and i think there all console shifters

mikey, you got some anger? or somthing... calm down... if we went over all 18posts, 90% would probably come back with negitive effection for somthing.

This truck has some balls and I hope they produce it, and 8.1L, or a 6.6L duramax would be inorder.

A standerd cab swb chevy rebuild is really light. There is hardly anything too them. Its very easy to produce power... Just start with some domed pistions .20 over. a mild cam, alumium intake ported, roller heads/roller lifters, 700demon carb, hooker headers, and a clean flowmaster H-design dual. easly into the 340/330= hp/torque.

Sence mikey knows all... does the Syclone just have a viscous clutch awd? if it does... then it has the same drive line out of a mid 90s astro awd van (minus the turbo ofcourse)

i don't know were the anger comment comes from, im sarcastic somtimes but i don't see were you get 90% of my posts are negative.

im not alowed to say a ssr is ugly?

just confused that you call a truck that pulls 13'* out of the box only decent for performance.

i don't claim to know all, were are you getting this from? your like "there decent performers", i said 13'* a little more than decent for a truck. decent for a truck is 15'* inmo. At the same time it only looks like a truck, not really usefull for any truck purposes. i just think its funny that you claim there decent because if you mod a 350 to hell in a truck you can pull 14'*. mod that sy with the same amount of $$ and it will do at least 12'*.

its not just a turbo bolted on

The Syclone was like the truck version of the GN. I'd take anyday.

There you go again... a simple 350 rebuild isnt heavy modded... and cheap too 1,000buxx for the whole driveline, mostly new with rebuilt parts. The body is the most expensive part. I spend 4,000 on paint, and I welded in, and did all the body work... so that was cheap... With the wrecked 99siverado I found for my intieror. I probably only spent 10,000cdn..... A good syclone is worth 20,000US, and it has the driveline out of a minivan (96 astro). With a turbo and an innercooler. Why would you even think about building up the boost before you went. That must rip the viscous clutch all to hell and those arnt cheap. In my book there still both sport trucks... both 14second ish..
Now if you were to heavly mod the fullsized one... and put a 502 in it.. and a rear end to handle it (tranny too)... then it could run 11s aswell... and it would be still cheaper...

I dont think we should get into -ugly... when you drive a purple car with grey cladding.

heres a supertruck

this driveline is worth over 100,000us... denali awd (not van awd) and lignifilters 427 (not 4.3) twin turbos (not just one)...

Stop egging each other on gentlemen.

Find a truck forum if you want to discuss the performance abilities of trucks, we seem to have lost the direction of the thread. This has NOTHING to do with the GXP or Northstar powered cars...

Moved to the Lounge....
