Crank the thermostat down even more. Wear sweat pants, socks and a sweatshirt when around the house.

man i cant take this no more, its freezing over here now and for the last 3 months i have had the heat on no higher then 66-68 in the day and 60-62 in the night with an occasional steady 60 sometimes when no one is home..
is there something wrong or is this just normal.?
i cant afford this kind of heat. its been no higher then 60' f in my house and i been running 2 very strong electric heaters.
if this makes a difference ( my house inside is about 1900 square feet, 3 floors )
and another question is would electric heaters installed instead of oild heat be cheaper and still warm.? thanks

Yeah I am wondering about the same thing. My heat is propane and the digital dial has been preset to 70/72 every day. Last months bill was 299.95 and electrick was 170.00 and my home is 2200 sq ft. My frind in nc has his house set on the same temp as mine and pay 95 bucks a month natural gas and his electric is about the same his house is dual zone climate control 1600 sq ft.
What gives
to me really it seems like it all comes down to is what type of heating that you have because before i was running off a natural gas in a 3 story house and my bill each month was almost 450 every month. but that was because i had poor insulation. but now that i switched to electric heating and had the house re-insulated, my bill has been in the $200 range ever since
