Would it be remotely possible for GM to be 'unveiling' this engine as all new (to the US Market) 2009 Corvette ZR1 boosted LSx engine?
I mean, GAWD!!! That thing f'n hauls and sounds/looks sweet doing it. I'd bet the 09 ZR1 is really powered by that engine.

It was loud, it was just covered up by the insane exhaust... 
Which is how it should be..
EDIT: no, this engine has been around a while in europe in the VXR'* and before that as an option on the original Vauxhal Monaro... The LS9 is MUCH improved...
