What would Boosty do?
Yea, you could take yours up to the same level as mine. The reason to purchase the factory overclocked edition is the warranty. If you go liquid cooling you can get the blocks for the cards (although they are pricey) and OC them pretty good.
For now that'* true. If your the kind that likes to get some more life out of the parts though, you could give them some extra juice when the new more demanding games come out.
That'* my plan. I started with one, and it did everything just fine. I only bought another one because I had the cash. Didn't need it. Was unable to get a second XFX though since the 400 series came out. Good thing is Gigabyte had/has a 285 for $300.
Haha, that'* pretty much why I got my second one. That and I just wanted to have a working SLI. I tried Misfire and it lived up to it'* name. Plus the dual cards all lit up draws a lot of attention whenever I bring it out.
Right before I came out here to Iraq my MOBO decided it didn't like anymore than one stick of RAM at a time. I can RMA it back to Gigabyte, but I'm debating if I wanna do that or not. I'm really looking at buying a new board just to have some niceities.
Seems like every board has its issues that you either deal with or send it back, luckily mine has been reliable so far. I'm not all that confident in the RAID controller though.. but I'll see how it holds up. I may be selling my mobo soon and looking for an upgrade.
Looks like I'm not the only insane one here.
There'* one thing I will never underestimate in a computer, and that'* reliability. Everything important that I own is on a SCSI RAID 5 with 3 150GB 10k drives with an LSI MegaRAID controller that has its own backup battery. As if my APC UPS wasn't enough backup battery...

Very nice X!
All the harddrives I buy are 1TB Western Digital RE3'* (Server grade hard drives optimized for RAID). I'm going to be trying a 5 disk RAID-5. I've been taking my chances for too long since I didn't have enough storage to backup. Luckily these drives are pretty reliable to begin with.
