What does summer mean to you?
it means.....
Backyard parties. Meat grillin' and Beer chillin'
Fireworks.
Thunder storms.

Firing up the grill of course
Trying to see if I can get some friggin grass to grow in my front yard

To me summer just means that the men don't have to do any work. Men just let the women do the yardwork so the sun gets them hot and sticky. Meanwhile they are all in air conditioning watching the game or race with a cold beer in hand.

SUMMER
the good:
summer means my pay raise and another year notch on my badge at work [im at six, as of next month].
the bad:
the time when people go back-to-school shopping, which means for every department but my own, you cannot request off. it also means an increase in theft, because the kids are out of school, as well as an increase in the amount of clothing tried on, not bought, and returned to a random rack or the floor that we get to pick up.
it means a drastic rise in the cost of cooling our home while the temperature of the home hovers at 79*.
the ugly:
my availability at work opens up because school is out, so i can go ahead and bend over because thats what it means to work in retail.
nancys job starts, which means that i will see her only on weekends and only for about half an hour a night, if im lucky (during which, shes pissed because she has to get up early the next morning).
