Default Uh oh Microsoft, here comes Google

May be old news, but Google is getting ready to release their own operating system. It'* called Chrome OS.

Well, you don't have to wait to download it. It'* based on Linux so it'* readily available. I'm very excited about this... very. I can't wait for the first official release.

I don't know if I can post the download link here, but PM me and I'll send you the link.

It'* been in development for a while. Quite frankly I never followed it because I'm quite happy with Windows 7

This isn't going to be a replacement or competition for Windows. It has its own target market and purpose, such as tablet PCs, web operating systems, and the like.

I don't see anything exiting about an OS that doesn't have software available like MS. Cold cruel facts, and why Apple has trudged knee deep in mud since itz inception. Linux huh. hehehe

That'* what it all boils down to; the software and the support. You can't get away from using Windows. For netbooks, tablets, and other mobile devices, you can use other operating systems with a small learning curve. Example, my first EEE PC withj a 7" screen came with a revision of Linux, which I used for about 3 months comfortably before installing Windows. Corporate environments though are a different story.

Im just excited about some good competition for Microsoft. It'll help drive costs down and keep Microsoft on its toes.

I'll have to look at it when it comes out. I have a old laptop I can't upgrade anymore. If it loads on it I would make it a net computer only.
