You know you can get them already out of the shell, right?
Same way with pistachios.

you eat them too fast that way...

you don't eat them to get full, you eat them for the experience/keep your mouth busy

Plus, you don't get the super high intake of salt when you don't pick 'em out of the shell yourself.

I'm a more of a pistachio guy, but I still love sunflower seeds. They're great road trip food.
