So...basically....she'* a mother who is looking out for her son. Bottom line... right or wrong. You'll have to go along with her on this...otherwise she'll badmouth you when he gets back.

Then you need to sit down with Walter when he comes back and tell him that you were torn between doing what he wanted...and doing what his mother wanted. Tell him you didn't know who'* instructions to follow. Ask him which instructions should have been followed. You may be surprised on what he says.

On one hand, he may be ticked that Mommy Dearest interferred...on the other hand he may be ticked that you didn't obey his orders... therefore, you need to assure him you understood his orders, tried to do them, but decided to listen to her out of respect and becuase of her insistence.

In the future, you will request to have a meeting with him and Mommy Dearest to be sure everyone knows their place and duties in his absence.

Very sound advice Tracy!! I agree 100%. I would call Walter and ask him before the paperwork gets so out of order it will be a nightmare to redo though.

this is what they call a rock and a hard place.
Gyod, wth can a guy do?
Lucky for me, my boss'* mom has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel, so we wouldn't have to put up with that.

I would have called on that other job where your brother works by now.

You know..the one that pays more and has benefits.
