Default SES And Inspection

How far do you need to drive your car after fixing and clearing a code before you can get an inspection???

is this on the 95' you have listed? for emissions it shouldn't matter if the light is on if its a 95-down car just so long as it can pass the sniffer test.

Last year I overheard a garage tell a woman who had to get an O2 sensor put in before they would inspect her... that she had to drive 100 miles or so before they would re-try the inspection. It likely depends upon the code. You could alway call the garage and ask them....or just try it.

All it is in NY is a check on the gas cap and electronic check of the emissions systems. You are allowed to have 2 (iirc) not working and still pass.

I've heard from a couple different sources that it won't pass if the codes have just been reset. I had the Monte at the dealer Thursday night for a an evap problem & inspection. They called to get my permission for the service manager to drive it home & bring it back in the morning. He lives about 10 miles away so a twenty mile trip was all it took.

Lol...sure sure...he just wanted to drive your hot car! Lol. And you fell for it!

Just kidding... it is true that some codes require a certain # of miles driven...others are engine on/off cycles...
