One of GM'* better quality interiors from the early 2000'* in terms of materials IMO is the Trailblazer/Bravada/Envoy. The pieces are much more sturdy. The new GMs are better yet, but sadly, the technology is not there. Also, a very underrated interior is from the 1995-1997 Cutlass Supreme. I thought the interior was very stylish and tight on that car. I have a friend with 250,000mi on her'* and absolutley NO squeaks, vibration or rattles! Even the 2000+ Impala, even though the interiors aren't really stylish at all, seem sturdier than the new Aurora/Bonneville/LeSabre.
I wish GM had released cars like the Lucerne and the new impala 8 years ago! The interior quality is so much better.
Well sit in a classic and you will notice a much higher quality feel to it but I am guessing you are looking for something newer. Its a shame but yeah the older Bonneville fellt much more high quality inside than the new one. I especially liked the older bonnevilles leather seats.

actually, newer isn't really an issue, i'm looking more at miles and condition. I like the older Auroras a lot, they are nice cars. I think if I had to get a replacement for my Bonneville (probably next year), I'd get a '98 or '99 aurora. I like the 2004 Toyota Avalons a lot, but I don't have the $$$ lol.

The only thing I find cheap about my Aurora is the door panels. They are not held in well to the door. I fixed that problem by supporting the clips behind the door. They have a better feel to them now. To be honest, the Aurora has a tighter fit/finish than the '96 Bonne that replaced it, but thats just my personal observation.
There is a lot of things that are left to be desired on the newer Aurora/Bonne cars. Water leaks being a major one, along with light bulbs burning out and a whole host of other things. Every car has its quirks.
Did you take any pictures of the Aurora? I'd be curious to see that mint interior.

I love the classic Auroras and one day wouldn't mind owning one. The interior doesn't look or feel cheap to me.
LittleHoov, it'* funny (well not really funny) you mention your warped dash...I've heard the same thing happening to Aleros as well. I was close to buying a GLS once but when I read about one person'* headaches with their Alero I opted out.
If you want to see a cheap GM interior in design AND material, sit in the Monte Carlo. My parents' '03 SS has the worst case of creaking plastic ever. And the design leaves so much to be desired.
Though it has a 'typical' GM interior, at least in design, I'm pretty happy with my 03 SSEi. A huge improvement over the previous Gen. and not really any creaks that I have noticed.
