Default I am impressed

I just got my trans fluid changed (not a flush) and had a new filter put in as well today. Looking at the pan, there was absolutely no sign of abnormal wear and tear. There was just standard clutch wear. The pan was practically clean. The car has almost 98,000 miles on it. I got it when it has 85,000. I don't know how long ago the trans was serviced before I owned the car, but considering all the mods I have done, and all the ... fun ... I've had with the car, I'm very impressed that the trans is still doing it'* job 100%.

I give mad props to the 4t65e-hd.

I just had the 95 flushed at 115k. It was almost certainly OEM fluid. Looked great.

You probably dont beat the hell out of it. If you drove it hard all the time it would be black gold. Also no trans oil cooler doesnt help, but it can be added.

150k on original fluid? Was the pan breached...are you sure? WOW. Mine was turning color even at 79k when i dropped it.

I was on the orginal trans (probably orginal fluid, likey) on my 87 and it rolled to 220 without any issues. fluid was a little bad though. Changed the fluid and the trans blew up 6 months later, go figure

LOL....did you have it flushed then it blew or what? If you change it at over 150k for the first time you prolly shouldve just left it. The dirt was probably helping it grip.

Same thing I should have never run Mobil 1 in my car with already seeping seals. Made it 10x worse now after cleaning the sludge off the seal.

I don't beat it up, but I do have fun with the car. The power I am making is way above what the trans is supposed to handle, so with that in mind, seeing that everything is in good shape is a big plus.

Wow....do you ever floor it? Prolly a few good sustained WOT runs with all that extra power will do it in.

from what i've read, it'* hard launches that kill the 65-hd, just as in any car that has more power than the tranny is rated at
