I have only owned a few cars in my lifetime because I keep them a long time but I have been most impressed with this Bonneville. I park it in a garage with a sealed concrete floor. It shows if there is even a drop. The only leakage I've detected in 3 1/2 years of owning this baby is from A/C condenser water. Not one drop of oil from anything.
Is this typical with all you other guys/gals?
My SSEi has very low miles but I'm hoping this will continue for many more years.

My Firebird started leaking from the rear main seal after about 5 years and even after a rear seal change still leaks quite a bit. Enough to leave a capfull of oil every night.

my 97 doesn't have any leaks at all.. hell my 88' LeSabre with the 3800 didn't even leak any oil. I'm definately happy with the 3800.

No fluid leaks on mine after 140,000. Once the trans bolts weren't tight enough and I had a trans fluid leak - technician error.

I have also had a freon leak. Added UV dye today with a recharge to see if we can't find it next time.

Sounds about right. My 88 had 158,000 on it and never used or leaked any oil, trany fluid, antifreeze, or anything. Engine still ran great but ended up getting a electrical problem and parking it. My 96 SE has 117,000 I recently replaced the oil pan gasket because it was leaking but I think it was from the previous owner overtighting it. Other than that the 3800, 3800 Series I, and the 3800 Series II are about one of the best and longest lasting engines out there. AND THEY SURE CAN TAKE A BEATING.

Mines got 108 babied miles, (only 10k a year!!!) and it doesnt show it, mechanically, performance wise, or appearance wise. No leaks what so ever now, i think they A/C mighta on the previous owner cause it has a freon dye dated 7-21-02 on it, then an R-134a conversion dated 7-22-02. Hey i got new A/C so i'm happy. It doesn't seem as cold as it should be, could it already need a recharge?

No engine leaks on my 98 pushing 90000 miles. The onnly leaks I have are the drivers door leaks if you run it through a high pressure wash, and some road noise from the front passenger door area.

No leaks on my 92 SE. Just turned 90K. That must say something for the 3800 engine.
