Unplug the cord, let it sit for 30 seconds. Turn off your PS2/computer. Plug the router back in, then turn on the other two devices.

Most cable modems don't like going back and forth like that. Neither does your ISP.

Try to force the router to use your computers MAC address.

Yea, unplug everything, then turn on your cable box, then your router. The router is just 'dumb' and needs the numbers from your ISP. I have a wireless linksys router also, and sometimes it will just hang for no reason, until I shut everything down.

I'd like to make it a matter of record that an old guy helped with a computer problem without saying "kick it" or "hit it with a BFH".

Yeah, routers can be touchy. I've had my share of trouble with my SMC. (Mostly trying to walk my ex-g/f through restting it over the phone).

Hey L27Buick, your profile says you're from G.R. I went to high school there. You?

I went to Forest Hills Central (unfortunately) and my ex-gf went to Northview. I lived there for about 5 yrs. Not much to do in that city, but I guess you get sick of anywhere if you stay there long enough.
