since i installed my new linksys router i can host games on warcraft 3.
i dont know what setting to temperaly turn off so i can host games. before i got the router id just turn off the microsoft firewall and then id be fine bu ti would turn it back on after im done playing. anyone got any ideas?

I think you have to find out which ports the game is using then open those up in your router. Router is the same as a firewall only you cant turn it off. I have a dlink and have to use aweb bowser to access the settings.

Technically a router is not a firewall, all of the consumer router'* just happen to have hardware firewalls in them. And yes, you need to find out what ports WC3 uses and then foward those ports to the pc doing the hosting.

Allow port 6112 TCP out and allow established sessions in

i did it different here is what i did i wen tunder Triggered Range, Forwarded Range i set to 6112-6119. and it work fine now.
again now i gotta set my microsoft fire to do the same.
