"ricing out" cars
To quote myself:
I, myself, am a victim of stereotypists, being naturally dark-skinned. I am by no means trying to stereo-type.
Modding a car in any way, or "tuning", is purely a personal choice. I have met many import owners, and I myself have love for several import cars. I am in no way speaking out against imports at all. Rather, the people who, by choice, remain ignorant as to what modification does what, and who badges or stickers a car for what it isn't.
If someone gets rims, neons, an 8" diameter tach, and, yes, even a wing, and will readily admit that none of that was performance oriented, great! They know that they have all show no go, and are proud of it.
Like I've mentioned before, there is a turbo'd Accord here in town that is modded correctly. It runs very fast. It does not have a wing, as he is performance-oriented.
I guess, in a nutshell, the term "rice" is not confined to imports only. Just go look at the Aurora thread.

I didnt say what car they drove, but how they drove it. What model of car did I mention in my previous posts? So before you go calling me ignorant and thinking I am stereotypicalling people, look at yourself for jumping on my case.

TWM - I agree with you 100% It'* all about the car owner and what they are doing with the car. Putting on indiglo gauges and a big tach won't make your car faster
You read my post, if your going to keep on quoting me get it strait. I never said anything about listening to Eminem. Check it over and over again. And what the **** dude, I said one line about something and you jump on my case. Read the rest of my post and comment on that. And where did I say ricer once? Quit putting words in my mouth dude. Would you modify your car if you could have the car of your dreams?

I, personally, am surprised to see so many people with negative attitudes about imports. I do agree that doing these things to MOST imports is a waste of money, but you are all really missing the big picture. What makes, what you are doing with your car, any better than what they are doing? Any of you, that have done ANYTHING to modify your car, has no room to talk. You have made your car into something it wasn't supposed to be to begin with. And let'* face it, even if they are doing it for girls (like that hasn't been the case for as long as cars have been around
) or what ever, they are still into their cars and have driven the market for after market parts far beyond what it was a few years ago. Those of you criticizing, must sound like the people that said the same about muscle cars decades ago. Ignorant.

Arent we putting a little too much effort into arguing about something that is really simple and unimportant in the end. I mean what does this really accomplish. We are putting too much thought into a simple term that is just used as slang to describe imports. lets not put too much thought into things that are so simple and little.
