72 hours almost to the minute after the accident and they release him from the hospital.
But
He'* restricted from everything for 4 weeks. No school, no work, no driving, no lifting, no nothing. If he wants to go for a walk...he must have someone with him. He get dizzy and disoriented. His shortterm memory is compromised at this point. Sometimes he can't remember what was discussed 10 min earlier or who visited him the day before. If he were to take a blow to the head right now....he'd either die or become retarded. He has to be watched pretty much the entire time. He could take off somewhere and forget where he is going.

Welcome home Preston...
Now get better and let the girls pamper you a bit. (I wrote it down...that way he'd be able to read it over and over )

Yowch, glad to hear he'* okay. Do the doctors a favor, wait for everything to heal before you smack him around.
BTW my impression of Hyundai'* build quality just went up a bunch.

X2.
I heard about the wreck from Cody and called Tracy earlier this week, but I want to repeat my well-wishes.
I don't think we need to worry about him repeating his foolishness, even if he never does remember that accident. Ditchboy, on the other hand, probably needs to get an up close look at what'* left of that car...

I've talked with my boss and the HR person and have offered to work from home. 80% of my job could be done Outlook Web Access to my work email account ...I could do 100% of it if they are able to hook me up with the web-based version of MAPICS, our manufacturing software, allowing me to enter/modify the orders and forecast directly. If not, I can at least to the legwork and have my co-worker do the actual entering part.
It will all boil down to how well my boss can sell the "best for the company" pitch to the President to counter the "we don't want to set a precedence" policy. But my job is protected no matter what, whether they allow me to work from home or not. At this point, it doesn't matter to me. Everything will work out - it always does. I have some vacation still - I'm not worried.

That would be excellent if your company lets you work from home. SOme companies actually care about family..

i am so glad to read that he is home, and has an appetite...(maybe its that he wants to show you how much he missed your cooking)
how is the walking and dizyness comming i hope it subsides soon
looks like he is an active guy and it must be driving him nuts (and you) that he cant get out and about right now

He'* making good progress - can't mess with him as much now.
The dealership guy who sold him the car called today to see how he was doing. Nice of him, and sort of funny... I told him he could use the wreck pics as a selling point for future sales. I don't think he totally understood my sense of humor.
Good news! I am working from home - so much for the month-long vacation...but at least I have no reason to be late for work! It was great to be able to sleep in and still be "on time".
Thank you - everyone - for your thoughts, well-wishes, and prayers. They truly did make a difference.
