Wow. Sorry to hear about this Tracy but glad he is alive.
The true reality will sink into him after he gets out of recovery and has to start walking where ever he wants to go.
He abused his privaledge and will now have to pay for it. It will be a learning experience. If he doen't learn now, the next time he might not be so lucky.

Tracy......I can feel your shaking and trembling while reading your post! My biggest fear when Ashley had the car out was to receive that phone call you experienced Monday night. Fortunately for me that'* never happened.
First and for most to Ricerson..........please get well soon and may you have a speedy and full recovery. Take this experience and learn from it. Life is a precious thing, often taken for granted. We don't realize how fragile life is, how quickly things can change, and how our own thoughts and actions can play a role in the directions our life takes. You are very lucky to be alive! Now use this experience to better yourself and the people around you. Be strong and do what ever it takes to get back on your feet again! Good luck and I wish you speedy progress and much success in your future!
Tracy.......Hang in there............let the mother in you take over and nourish your son back to his health. Memory loss can be fightening at times, frustrating other times, but in the end all of us are routing for you and your family to recover from this series of events. We know here on BC that your the perfect person for the job!
Should you need anything, any help, we (Lisa and I) are there for you.

HOLY ****! :?
I'm glad to hear he'* mostly okay, it just amazes me that if that were to happen in a car from even just 20 years ago, something much worse could have happened. The cars today are built so structurally sound and safe...as much as I hate the idea of an airbag blowing up in my face, I'm secretly glad it'* there, and in this instance, very glad it was there for him.
I'll pray for a speedy and full recovery! Tell him to keep his chin up...someone'* looking out for him!

He definetly had a guardian angel with him that'* for sure. I'm glad to hear he is for the most part okay. I got in a real bad wreck back in 2001 and also had alot of memory loss. I could remember things from waaaaay back when, but couldn't remember what I had just did, nor could I remember the accident. It lasted for about 6-8 months before I was completely able to remember everything. He will be in my prayers.

I had a traumatic accident 30 years ago that totalled my car. I still can't remember anything about 15 seconds before it happened but it didn't affect any other long term or short term memory.
Memorizing peoples names takes tricks like word association. Simply teach him to associate a name with anything at all in his mind. For instance......Tracy...picture a half naked woman with just a tee shirt on tracing the word Country.
It'* amazing how the mind will remember pictures or acronyms better than words.
