The things our kids put us through! YOU know how lucky he has been, Tracy, I just hope Ricer will understand this after his recovery. A young lady in our neighborhood, one of my daugher'* friends, got in a car accident a couple years ago. All who know her consider her blessed to be alive, and she is well aware of her blessing too. She'll be in a wheelchair the rest of her life, most likely. Hopefully, once the swelling goes down, your boy will return to normal brain functions (whatever those are ). I'll be praying for no cord damage from the injury. This accident could have very easily had a much more tragic result. I'll keep you in my prayers too. (You know that when he recovers you're going to want to throttle him.)

My Lord!! That'* a mess! I hope that he recovers fully and doesn't have lasting injuries.
I also hope he doesn't get too many traffic violation charges in the mail, as is likely.
It'* an unfortunate reality that some children seem to need a near death experience to wake them up about how precious life really is. I know well, since I was one of those children. Best wishes for a full recover, RicerSon.

Clearly Hyundai has come a long way since the 80'*.
Best wishes on your son'* recovery. As has been said already, seatbelts (and airbags) save lives.
