friend of ours cut her finger tip off when a heavy fire door shut on it. Didn't bleed at all. They just picked it up and when to the doctor.

Must show wife and explain why wedding ring is bad idea, umm for men. I actually have a small bend in mine where it got caught while I was wearing it handling a block of metal. Damn that hurt.
That was the last day I wore my ring at work. If that pic is real or not that hits home.

I guess I've never seen a severed finger, but I have seen severerly lacerated fingers that literally gushed. I just assume a finger severed as badly as that one would do at least the same.
When I was 5 yesrs old I had a pain of glass fall on my index finger nuckle. The nuckle on my hand. Blood was dripping everywhere. I didn't feel anything cause the nerve was severed. I wanted to be a doctor so I thought it was cool being able to see into my bone. 40 stiches sealed it up.

That happens quite often on ship, so much my wife understands I don't wear my ring when underway. Or when working with the electronics in my shop. BTW I do wear it ashore.
