sprained it on the board, hitting the water, or hitting the bottom of the pool?

I feel for you. I've sprained my right ankle 5 times, left twice. One of the right ankle sprains was pretty nasty, jumped up out of my chair, and out of my booth at the parking lot I worked at, and my ankle just rolled over. If I didn't have great reflexes, and hadn't just gone with the fall, I probably would have broken something. As it was, I ended up sprawling in the entrance of my parking lot next to my manager'scar door. I thought it was fine, walked around a little, then it started hurting. A lot. As in nauseatingly painful. Worse than when I broke my finger. Back at work the next day, driving and hobbling around on a tightly wrapped Ace bandage. step, ow. step, ow. step, ow.
My Mom'* side of the family seems to have a history of foot problems. The funny thing is that I can hop around on rocks all day in a creek or gully, go rock climbing, scrambling up hillsides, and never have any problems. All my sprains have happened on relatively flat surfaces. :?

And to think.......I felt really bad walking into your screen door! At least I didn't sprain/broke any part of my body.
