I hate to think about whathappened to the driver, but I see no signs of injuries (I was a traffic accident investigator, I look for those things)
I saw the internet post on that one. That was one of three pictures of the same accident that was titled "200 mph BMW crash"
He was probably doing more like 100 when he hit it. A real testament to the strength of wood.
I hit a big tree once sideways upside down about 25 years ago in my wreckless youth. By the time I hit the tree I had slowed down to what I would estimate about 40 mph. Totally wrapped the tree. The passengers door was pushed all the way over to me in the drivers seat and the rear bumper was 90 degrees to the front one. I was lucky and gained a whole new respect for trees........and drinking and driving.

it kinda looks photshoped. seriously thats not a very big tree. and what 3000 pounds travelling 100 mph. momentum is velocity times mass. so that would be.....alot. but i dunno trees can take a lot.but youd think the tree would have been affected slightly.at least bent somewhat instead of straight up.
