here in peterborough we've only had a canadian tire, petro canada and a shell close. funnily enough all the esso'* are still going...at 99.9 a litre mind you!

what i was told from a buddy at the shell station i go to is that it started with the esso refinery fire, which also serves some independents in the southern ontario region. the cn rail strike caused problems with them backfilling.

due to people panicking( as they said on men in black "a person is smart...people are dumb and panicky!) and putting a run on other stations, everyone has been hit hard and they can't keep up with the extra demand, which is why it is spreading to other stations.

as far as the price going up, comeon......the oil companies use ANY excuse to gouge us...this just happened to be this months!

There are LOTS of stations down in my area that aren't open, it seems to be a lot better in Mississauga. It all started this time last week - I dropped by an Esso and WTF they had no 87.

Today'* fillup was at a Sunoco at Dixie/Eglinton near my work.

$2.79 for 92 = $0.738/L USD

= 0.86/L CAD for premium
= 0.76/L CAD for regular

Still works out to be about where we were BEFORE the shortage.

Morning Billarooni! Mick had all his wisdom teeth out yesterday, so he'* presently in bed sleeping with Tylenol 2'*. i don' think he'll be able to drive today so maybe we'll see some relief gas price wise. As for what Bill is saying, ya, he does suck the gas a bit more then I do, but then I don't know the last time I had the gauge show positive boost. If you do try to take the key'* away from Mick, you'll have a major fight on your hands, but I don't mind if you try..... :P
