14 years ago the normal gas price hovered around $1. $1.29 was expensive.
What the hell happened?

I don't really think Saddam has/had anything to do with the price of gas. Just for example Canada produces enough gas to supply Canadians, Why do we ship our product south ?? why if we produce oils here aren't our prices lower ?? TAXES.. it'* not just the oil companies lining there pockets off of the sales no not even wait hold up..

Gas is not a luxury it is a necessity is it not.. We need it do we not??

anyways

the Federal government makes just as much if not more on the taxes they charge oh and never mind that Petro Canada is owned by the Canadian government so there making twice.

you can not blame Saddam for the cost of gasoline you can however blame the bureaucrats in Ottawa and Washington DC since most of what you pump in to your tank comes from either Canada or the USA. Look at Venezuela 0.12Cents a gallon... anyone have a slightly used oil tanker laying around..

*disclaimer I'm drunk so im not writing this to offend but its what I believe to be the truth my opinion. Saddam was a sicko but so are a few other people want me to name them?

As far as I can see, you have your choices. Buy a moped so you get 100+ mpg, or drive the speedlimit or even under that, without quick starts/stops.

I don't even look at the price anymore, I just put the card in, close my eyes and pump.

on the plus side though, I'm racking up a ton of rewards points on my credit card by using it to pay at the pump
