this can be a benchmark thread... so when I do this again in 2010 we can all dream about the $3 a gallon prices.. when in reality we are pumping $10 a gallon

I remember when I was a kid and went cross country with my dad, we paid $.99/gal most of the way.

I can remember when gas prices reached 1.53 a gallon, i was pissed. I had just got my license and was beginning to drive. It cost me like 7 dollars to dirve to my gf'* house and back, i hated it. Now 4 years later, it costs me 8-10 dollars to just drive the same drive one way and 8-10 back. LOL, i wish i could go back to 1.53 a gallon

0.96/L is cheaper, but still not cheap

It was 0.75 at the start of this year.

Dammit... what a bunch of whiney babies we were!

But this is just what the oil companies want... Get us used to paying $3.50/gallon, so when it goes all the way down to $2.50/gallon we feel like we're getting a bargain

Goddamn, what the hell changed so much in the last five years that we can't have $1.50/gallon gas again? It'* bullshit I tell you.... complete bullshit.

it'* the big deal that everyone makes out of it....though......diesel

32 gal at $2.799 = $89.56
32 gal at $3.159 = $101.08

or at todays gas prices to fill my truck
32 gal at $3.399 = $108.76

enough of a difference to me I guess
