hmmm...I don't have an "entire network" under my network places.
I have a section on the left for Network Tasks.
The main page has a folder in Local Network.
There is a folder there that says Cabaday'* computer, inside that there are folders for Shared Music, Shared Pics, And shared videos, which are all empty.
+++Note*** Do both computers have to be on to do this?
Please be patient with me
I can design a website, but everything i do on a computer except Word and Power Point is self taught.

both computers on
you have to have the folder or drive(if you want all the folders) shared
you should then be able to go to network neighborhood and "see" your other computer. it will show whatever name you gave to it when setting it up. (you may not have given it a name but something will be there)
to get to the files or folder that you set as shared double click the computer and then double click the folder. sometimes it takes a while to open things over a network. be paitent.
on a side note, windows firewall should block you from this as long as its set to allow file sharing. one way to check is to turn it off, set up your network and see that it works. once you got it working turn the firewalls on again. i'll bet it still works just finr. i haven't yet worked on a computer where the firewall blockes folder sharing...
Good Luck!

Has anyone mentioned that they both need to be on the same workgroup? Its doubted that they aren't since no one has probably messed with that setting, but just in case, check it to make sure.
Then, connect both computers to the router.
Go to the network configuration wizard, set them both up, and then restart both.
Now, you need to go to each main directory you want to share on the network and go into its properties and tell it to be shared. Otherwise you can just map a network hard drive from either one to the other and go through the entire hard drive like you're sitting right on that computer.
Both computers must be on at any time you're sharing the files. My thing is to leave them on all the time so that I can reach them from where ever i have the internet, or just my own network without having to go turn them on.
