I had one give me back 7.25 out of a 20 for a 17.25 bill. I have no idea how she even came up with that figure, and all but beat my head against the dash trying to get her to do the simple math. She wanted to insist she was right. How do they keep their jobs and the register tapes right?

That'* when you just say OK, and leave. It will show up when they close the register at the end of the day.

You know me. Making a point I see right is worth a lot more than 3 bucks.

well i used to be a cashier and a supermarket and it would be tough to find out who messed up the cash bc several ppl work one register a day, we usually had 4-5 ppl per day so it would be next to impossible to find out who screwed up

I worked retail in college, but on the parts counter not on cash. Cash was for girls and girly boys. I seem to recall each cashier had their own cash drawer they moved from register to register, and they had to balance their own cash drawer at the end of the day. Sharing cash drawers is an open invitation to steal.
